4th edition of the World Jurist Prize. "Navigating Uncertainty: Economic Resilience and National Security in International Economic Law in the Face of Global Challenges"
Fourth
edition of the World Jurist Prize
Call
for papers (CFP):
Navigating
Uncertainty: Economic Resilience and National Security in International
Economic Law in the Face of Global Challenges
The Faculties of Law of Universidad Externado de
Colombia, the Universidade
Federal de São Paulo, the
Colombian Academy of International Law (ACCOLDI) and the Latin American Network
of International Economic Law (RED LAT-DEI), as part of their efforts to
promote critical and pluralistic thinking around the contemporary challenges of
International Economic Law (IED), are pleased to present the 4th Edition of the
Global Jurist Award, which invites the submission of academic papers for the
academic event entitled: ‘Navigating Uncertainty: Economic Resilience and
National Security in International Economic Law in the Face of Global
Challenges’.
Growing geopolitical tensions, fragile supply chains,
recurring financial crises, threats to health and the environment, and the
accelerated digitalisation of the economy have highlighted the need to rethink
the role of IED in contexts of uncertainty. In this scenario, economic
resilience and national security concepts have become central to policymaking,
giving rise to divergent interpretations, new normative tensions and
institutional adjustments in advanced economies and emerging markets.
This call seeks to bring together contributions that,
from different disciplinary perspectives, analyse the impact, limits, and
transformations of international economic law in this new global environment.
Papers that propose comparative approaches, case studies, or theoretical or
empirical developments that explore these dynamics, as well as possible paths
for their future evolution, will be particularly valued.

- Conceptualising economic resilience in the context of FDI.
- National security and economic interdependence: emerging normative tensions.
